As big businesses prepare to slash their prices this Friday, our collective of small independent businesses are planning something different….
Instead of trying to compete with the large corporations, we have chosen to try and make Black Friday a little greener, a little kinder and a little more local with Green incentives and a Small Biz Swap.
This Friday 27th November (and longer for some) there will be some small Cardiff businesses who will be donating money to charity, planting trees and spreading kindness.
Green Incentives
Cardiff Indie Collective: will be donating £2 from every loyalty card sold on Friday to Cardiff Food Bank
Honeydew Club: will be donating 10% of profits from sales this week to the mental health charity Mind.
Sarah Glazier Ceramics : 10% of all sales made on Friday 27th through her Etsy page will go to Cardiff Food Bank
Rhian Pitt Holistic Massage: 10% from all Gift Vouchers sold on Friday will go to Cardiff Food Bank. Vouchers can be used towards any Holistic Massage Treatment. To purchase see here
MoroMou: Will be planting a tree through TreeSisters for every order made from now until 2021. They also have some 20% discounts – see their social media for discount codes.
The Honeycomb Toys & Books: are accepting donations of NEW toys/books and kids clothes and sweets. All going to support Cardiff’s Family Intervention Services (so families in some sort of difficulty across Cardiff.) The donations don’t have to be bought in the Honeycomb, but if they are you get 10% off your entire purchase (in store only). All donations must be in before 17th of December.
Create Salon: will be planting a tree for every client that visits in November and December.
Penylan Pantry: The beautiful Pantry window design, and positive message has been turned into a card, by Mel (Penylan Pantry), and Suzanne & Chris Carpenter for Patternistas. 100% of all proceeds from this card will be donated to Cardiff’s Women’s aid. They’ve also registered this campaign on Work for Good, who will be doubling their donation ? Cards can be purchased in the Pantry.
Tabitha Eve : will be donating 15% from each order using the code GREENFRIDAY at checkout to their local food bank (Pontypridd food bank).
Penylan Preserves: will be donating 10% from all the sales they made at the online xmas market last week to Cardiff Food Bank
Small Biz Swap
Many of our collective will be taking part in our Small Biz Swap – the chance for small businesses to swap products and services with each other – check our social media on Friday throughout the day to see what people are offering – you don’t need to be part of the collective to exchange with them, anyone can join in. More details will be posted on our instagram page on Friday.
