This week is the lovely artist Sera Wyn – check out the absolutely beautiful work she does over on her instagram page
Tell us a bit about the business
I’m an artist specialising in Cameraless photography techniques. As an artist I seek to expose and highlight the overlooked patterns in everyday nature.
Whether it’s the dandelion growing through a crack in the pavement on the outskirts of Cardiff Castle or the ferns and nettles growing on Gabalfa roundabout, the beauty of nature surrounds us everyday in even the most urban of concrete settings.
I hope that I can highlight the beauty of these plants through my artworks and even through the new range of Cyanotype tote bags I have been developing during lockdown!
What do you like most about trading in/from Cardiff?
Cardiff is an amazing community of artists and businesses that produce incredible products but is also so inclusive and supportive of each other. From amazing independent food providers like @franks_hotdogs in @cardiffmarket1891 , to beautiful artists like the painter @CatrinLlwyd,
Cardiff is full to the brim with incredible creatives that really represent our gorgeous Welsh city.
Have you got any advice for other indie businesses?
I’m just starting off really business wise. I’ve been an artist for years but finally had the confidence to produce products to sell.
I’ve been overwhelmed by peoples kind comments and the support I’ve received. I’ve definitely been inspired by the incredible Indies that exist in Cardiff and throughout Wales.
Do you want to give a shout out to / which are your favourite Cardiff indie businesses? @happyplant_co are my absolute favourite. Stunning plants, lovely service, cutest branding ever and eco friendly, what more could you want?
