I am Rebecca Burt Jewellery, a welsh jewellery designer/maker. I make handmade precious jewellery from silver and gold featuring highlights of carefully selected precious and semi precious gemstones. I am based out of the lovely Red Door Studios in Kings Road Yard in Pontcanna, Cardiff.
My work is very tactile and surface driven. Having originally completed a degree in textile design, it is still very much a big influence on my approach to jewellery making. I am fascinated by textures and building up patterns in the metal, letting the process guide me. My finished pieces are organic and have a directional quality, that captures movement and a sense of flow. I accentuate this by contrasting combinations of silver, gold and oxidized silver to create beautiful juxtapositions.
Each piece is made completely by hand in my studio, allowing every piece of jewellery to be unique and have its own personal characteristics.
When can I visit?
I am often in the studio but it is best to contact me via phone or email to arrange an appointment to avoid disappointment.
Do you work to commission?
Yes, absolutely! As every piece is made by me, we can work together to figure out exactly what you are looking for. I am also able to work with heirloom stones and gold to transform them into a new piece of jewellery.
