It works with muscles, bones, skin, fascia, and many of the body’s systems including the digestive, cardiovascular and nervous system. It can also be used as a tool to work with mental and emotional well-being, hence being a holistic approach to bodywork.
Our physical well-being can be so intricately connected with our mental well-being, and this style of massage is particularly beneficial to those suffering with the physiological and psychological effects of stress, anxiety and depression.
Each treatment starts with a consultation to find out what you would like from the massage and what would be best suited for you on that day. I don’t follow a routine, and I don’t chat to you during a treatment so that you can fully tune into your body and the physical experience.
I trained at Bristol College of Massage & Bodywork in 2013, and have since completed courses in Indian Head Massage, pregnancy massage, hot stones massage, visceral massage, myofascial work, and more. I can incorporate different styles into one session.
I now teach at the college I trained at, and have also done a bit of teaching on the complementary therapy degree course at Cardiff Met. I trained with and am still a member of the Massage Training Institute.
